How the Esthetic Laser works - Reduction of fat cells

The Esthetic Laser applies laser radiation to the fat cells contained in the fatty tissue under the skin. These cells store excess energy as fat. During radiation, the laser beams penetrate the skin to a depth of around 9 mm. This process causes the atoms within the fat cells to vibrate, resulting in pores appearing in the cell membranes of the fat cells. Through these pores, the fat cells release their contents in a liquid state. In liquid form, fats are more easily broken down by the body's metabolic system. The breakdown of the fat stored in fat cells is called "lipolysis". Lipolysis is also referred to as "hydrolysis by lipase": Fats are broken down, released into the bloodstream, then excreted via the intestinal tract.
